Electric Water Heaters
Electric water heaters heat water directly by using electric elements located inside the tank. This type of water heater is generally the least expensive water heater to purchase and install. In addition, these models are typically cleaner (since no venting materials or fuel lines are required) and easier to maintain than gas or oil water heaters. Moreover, electric water heaters are basically unaffected by sediment build-up, and are a good solution where gas and oil are unavailable.
However, electric water heaters have higher operating costs than gas or oil models. Despite higher operating costs, recent advancements in technology have made electric water heaters much more efficient than they were in the past.
Another option is a hybrid water heater. This type of water heater condenses which makes them high efficiency units.
